Pardon Us…

February 25, 2010

…we are having technical difficulties. :/ Wow, after spending the whole day yesterday working code and domains and blah, blah, blah, my head was spinning. Along with hiring someone to cook and clean (in my dreams) I hope I can sometime hire someone to take care of all my bookwork and computer tech stuff. Wow, I just really don’t enjoy learning all of this. I think the biggest problem is that I’m a visual learner, so to have to read instructions and try and reread instructions and tinker and read more instructions…sigh, it is really wearisome to me.

Oh, then at the end of the day, I really messed up my layout here on the blog and was too tired of it all to set it back.

Today has been more of the same. At one point I lost nearly two hours of work.  Right now, cleaning is looking a.l.m.o.s.t appealing.

All that to say….I’m sorry for the links and everything overlapping the pictures and the missing about/contact page. Hopefully I’ll get everything better than new after my brain revives.

Russel and Susie l wedding

February 25, 2010

An exchange of vows before God..a sacred experience.  It’s been a challenging year for this couple–learning about the Bible’s teaching on divorce and remarriage, a period of separation, the passing of a previous husband, and finally being reunited in this ceremony.  I felt so much admiration for Russel and Susie for living out their beliefs even if it included some incredibly difficult life changes.  Hearing the question, “Are you free from all other marriage relations?” was so much more significant in this wedding.

The wedding was held on a Sunday morning and most of the church pitched in to help.  The meal was a potluck dinner, someone donated their time baking and decorating a cake, friends of the bride shopped and decorated, the food committee at church coordinated the meal and the ministry team served the bridal party.  Susie was overwhelmed by the love and gifts of service.

[From the couple's first look session]  I love this image because it tells the story of the day.  Rainy, cold, er frigid (for South Carolina ;) ) weather outside, but warm and love-filled, too.  I love it, too, because unscripted moments are best.

My apologies to those of you who have been checking here for wedding pictures.  I had good intentions of putting up a few on Monday.  Then it didn’t get done and I had a very sick, little boy  for a few days, sooooo….  But here are several for now, and there will be more before too long.

Happy Valentine’s Day tomorrow!  I’ll be photographing a wedding is, well, happy and unique, and definitely a story all its own.  More details later.

It’s been rainy and cold around here.  When I glanceed out the window this morning I was completely awed by the beauty of SUNSHINE pouring through winding blankets of fog.  It was so gorgeous…and if I wouldn’t have been so lazy and if I wouldn’t dislike cold so much, I would have definitely run outside with a camera.  I am thoroughly enjoying a bright house today.  After checking accuweather only about 76 times in the last week, I’m beginning to accept that Friday, the day of Katie and Zac’s wedding, will be cold and rainy.  So being creative on a big white porch and in a simple church house…here we come!

The good news–

–My (you know!) bride-to-be is very flexible about taking things as they come

–Michelle is coming to help me, and we make a great team

–the predicted high jumped from 39-40 degrees (yeah, I’m trying pretty hard. :) )

For all the other summer fans, here’s a splash of refreshment–
