Joel and Christi l Wedding

27 09 2008

I’m very, very tired, so not many words tonight.  Just a few though–Christi and Joel decided to have their formal wedding pictures taken the day before the wedding.  Maybe so their time could be more relaxed.  Maybe partially because I was going to be singing at the wedding (I only took the formals) and needed time to practice since most of the group was from out of state.  At any rate we took the pictures on Thursday with the loveliest, soft sunshine–just perfect for pictures.

Joel and Christi were planning an outdoor wedding with the ceremony and reception both held at the bride’s home.  Christi was dreaming of a wedding reminiscent of an old-fashioned tea.  This morning we woke up to a very wet, gray, drizzly day and any hopes for an outdoor wedding were pretty much out of the question.  I felt so sad for them with all the dreams and plans and work that they had put into this day.  They had a nice church reserved, so they were able to move things there.  As a guest it would have been impossible to tell that things had been hurried into place this morning.  The wedding was very beautiful and the couple just as radiant and happy as if their much-anticipated outdoor wedding had happened instead.  Even so, I was doubly glad that we had gotten these pictures the day before and captured some of the spirit and romance of the outdoors

Without further ado (and “not many” turned to many words), I present:

If you haven’t noticed by now, I have a fascination with shots of the couple’s feet and the story they can tell.  I would like to take one of these images from each wedding and eventually put together a collection.  Here’s the one from this wedding:

Joel and Christi, thanks for the fun time I had working with you!!  I wish you all the best of married life!

I don’t often come on this site because we still have dial-up and it takes so long to load good-quality pictures. :) But I saw the names on your xanga site, and I know them! Christi was such a beautiful bride, and the pictures/lighting are so lovely! The church and buildings you were at are so coo! I would love to shadow you at a wedding, learn some tips from you. :)

I enjoyed seeing pics of Christi the Bride! Wish you would have lived in the area when I got married there 5 1/2 years ago! :-) I had a pretty good photographer and have good quality pictures; but you do alot of fun, creative poses. Good job!

I came to see pictures of another wedding here, and was surprised to find Joel & Christi’s pictures! She’s the daughter of my husband’s cousin. You did a beautiful job! Thanks for sharing the pictures….and like the others said…I sure wish you’d been around 22 years ago to do my wedding pictures!
